What are you doing to have a greener earth and counter the global food crisis?

Global warming ,the sky rocketing food prices, and food shortages are now global concerns. Farmers are growing crops for production of bio fuels instead of feeding the hungry. Who pays the price?we all pay the Price which means we are all atleast attached to a responsibility of making sure food production is doubled in the upcoming years,we too need to make sure the environment is protected more than ever which probably will reduce the number of farmer growing food crops for bio fuels production because of the potential environmental hazards. i think more farmers are increasingly involved in bio fuels production because majority of us have failed to contribute toward the conservation of the environment and yet many of us may be already know what to do.i have recently started a campaign of planting trees with in my community in Ntinda Kampala Uganda. i realised that we all need to put in place a plan of action if we are to protect the environment. You don't have to shift mile stones to conserve the environment. Imagine if we all planted a tree for the year 2008, what an impact would that be toward protecting and conserving the environment. instead of Sitting and waiting for our governments to do the work we as individuals can also get involved.unless when we learn to all contribute something toward the environment little will be achieved. Its ridiculous to expect a quarter of the world population to stabilise food prices, double food production, and conserve the environment while the rest of us remain seated.we all can do something to have a more greener planet and counter the major food crisis. What are you doing to protect and conserve the environment?

Do you know how many farmers are paid not to produce? I think you should look into that and decide how much we would actually stand to lose as far as world hunger goes.

i think the environment is all our responsibility.we should learn how to all take individual responsibilities for the environment which will may be probably offset so many farmers involved in growing food crops for biofuel production.i recently bought my self a bike to make sure i dont have to drive all the time
